In some circumstances aerobic deterioration can be effectively controlled by differential addition of potassium sorbate. This can be achieved through the application of ECOCORN Varicool.


ECOCORN Varicool

ECOCORN Varicool allows you to apply the inoculant and chemical preservative separately for maximum flexibility and control of the spoilage risk. It also allows low volume addition of both the inoculant and the chemical preservative to reduce down time.

  • Suitable for maize and wholecrop silages
  • 100 Tonne pack contains:
    • 1 bottle of MTD⁄1 inoculant
    • 2 x 5kg cans of potassium sorbate

Application Inoculant

  • Dilute to 2 litres in the bottle
  • Apply at 20ml per tonne using an Ecosyler ULV applicator

Potassium Sorbate

  • Dilute 6 cans to 100 litres
  • Liquid applied at variable rates from 0.33 to 1 litre⁄t with a standard applicator, eg EcoFlow
  • Unopened bottles can be stored for 12 months in a cool dry place. Use diluted product within 2 days
  • Unopened cans can be stored for 12 months in a cool dry place. Use diluted product within 1 month
  • Free from genetically modified organisms (GMOs) and products derived from GMOs
